Raleigh, NC
We were invited to a Summer Solstice party. The invite said to bring a side dish or a dessert. Naturally we chose a dessert. This was a perfect opportunity to try out some cookie decorating techniques. Lots of lessons were learned, including how much time is actually in each cookie (a lot!), as well as some techniques for the future to get a smoother surface. We made half of the cookies as vanilla sugar cookies. For the other half, we added a lemon flavor. Therefore we decorated the lemon cookies with... a lemon! The vanilla cookies received a summer solstice sun with a little sparkle. They were a huge hit at the party. The other lesson learned was that we should have taken business cards. (Doh!) We love the look of a blank canvas.
